the lamp works well and truly illuminates the whole room. It was extremely easy to put together. --simply by screwing the poles together and attach the base. lean and not the base is heavy enough for it not to tip over. does not come with a bulb, but to my knowledge, you can use a standard bulb. the shade is made of a hard plastic, semi-matte. the lamp loses a star because the cable is unpleasant. part shade and continues up to the base

It allows flexibility of the light intensity in the room for the number of lamps that lights up. the protectors are translucent bulb giving a hot room a light spot even a "plus". the base is heavy enough so that the lamp is not easily "knockoverable" by our 4 grandchildren

I would just like to warn you of two things. first: you don't get 5 colored lamp shades as you might expect, but 4 and the assumption is that it will add a shade of white as the shadow of 5°. Second: The bulbs needs are very specific. --Max 25 Watt type B. in the end that screws into the socket is smaller than normal bulb so it takes a little extra research to make sure you are buying the right bulb.
